February 1st Quick Card

Image
Today I only had about 15 minutes as we are leaving to go skiing in about an hour. We also won't be home until late so this is the only opportunity I have. This card is perfect for a neighbor though. I used the Paper Fundamentals  Enchantment paper pack and a Picture My Life card from the retired Hopscotch collection. I have the next 2 and 1/2 days off so hoping to get to spend some time with my new Close to My Heart water color paints .

Balloon Ride Thinking of You Card-January 30

Image
Today I needed a quick card for a friend. I found the retired Balloon paper pack and thought it was perfect with the retired kraft square cards. I am really enjoying making a card every day. Today it gave me more opportunity to go through my scraps and see what I could create.

Masculine Valentine's Card-January 29

Image
I needed a more masculine Valentine's Day card to send to my high school nephew. The scraps of Prop Player I had left in my stash were perfect for this card. The possibilities of scraps are endless!

Zoe Thank You Card-January 28

Image
The one advantage of using the Cricut to create a card is you end up with so many negative's to use. This morning before work I threw this quick "Thanks" card together using the Zoe  paper pack and the Enamel & Glitter Duos Green Triangles . I sent this to a co-worker for helping me with some lessons.

Charlotte Thinking of You-January 27

Image
The Charlotte  paper pack along with the retired "Mini-Heart Wreath" stamp was perfect for a Thinking of You card for a friend. I absolutely love how versatile the Charlotte paper has become for so many different projects.

Adventurer Card-January 26

Image
This was a quickie card after a long weekend in Portland! I used the retired Surf's Up Picture My Life along with Crystal Blue and Honey Cardstock and sequins. Later this week the cards will get more creative, but for now this is perfect for a teen birthday card for my niece.

Happy Birthday Card-January 25

Image
My mom's birthday is coming up in early February so I wanted to be prepared. I was inspired by Close to My Heart Consultant, Tonya PoChing. I love the mini-roses from the January Stamp of the Month along with the coffee cup from the Cricut Artistry Cartridge and the new paper pack Penelope . I used Pixie and Cocoa Ink to stamp the roses and Pear Ink for the 2 leaves.

Adventure Boy's Birthday Card-January 24

Image
There are multiple reasons I am creating a card every day. One, I get to use up some of my supply (my husband says you could bury me in my supplies). Two, is to intentionally think about friends and family and three, to spend time every day doing something I love. Today I created a card using scraps and just to create. I have no one to send this card to yet but I believe the perfect person will appear this year. I used the following Close to My Heart Supplies: Paper Fundamentals-Basic Pack Outdoor Denim Cardstock (Retired) Olive Cardstock (Retired) Timberline Paper pack (Retired) Hone Cardstock Close to My Heart Artbooking Cricut Cartridge Woodgrain Embossing Folder All supplies can be ordered here .

Male Birthday Card-January 23

Image
My father-in-laws birthday is next week and they will be out of town so I want to make sure I get a card to him before he leaves. I used many retired products for this card. The paper, stamp and ribbon are all retired. However, the banners are from the Close to My Heart Paper Fundamental -Enchantment paper pack. I used scraps from a vacation layout for the Paper Fundamentals. I quickly cut them into different widths and created pendants out of them.

Thank You Card-January 22

Image
I still needed one more Thank You card to send out for Christmas so I decided to use the Charlotte paper pack along with Whisper Thick Twine and Aqua Dots  for a little pop of color.

Throwback Thursday Friendship Card-January 21

Image
I received this style of card from another consultant this past fall and fell in love with the design. I knew all these retired products would be great for a friendship card. I used the retired Frosted paper pack and Frosty Friends stamp set. The stamped sentiment came from the January Stamp of the Month that is still currently available for only $5 with any $50 purchase.  Directions to create the card can be found here .

Friendship Card-January 20

Image
This morning before work I got up early to enjoy some coffee and crafting time before my busy day begins. I made this quick Hello friend card to send to another librarian in the school district. I use scraps from the CTMH Paper Fundamentals line and cut the daisy using my Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.  Have a fabulous Wednesday.

Baby Card-January 19

Image
My school is having a baby shower for one of our kindergarten teachers today after school. She is due any day with a little girl. I made this card using the retired Babycakes paper and the Artbooking cartridge for the animals. Used whisper thick twine for the balloon string.

Butterfly "Hello" Card-January 18

Image
A little old and a little new today! I used a retired card base with the current Zoe  paper pack. I used the butterflies from the sleeve cuts I made the other day with the Artfully Sent  cartridge. I also added a small flower and a banner "Hello" from the Zoe Complements. I inked everything in Sweet Leaf ink. This will be a perfect card to send to my sister just to say hi!

H is for Happy-January 17th

Image
I had just a few minutes before the Seahawk football game this morning. I need a birthday card this week so decided to use another Picture My Life card from the Childhood Scrapbooking Program . I used Peacock cardstock and embossed it with the Stripe Embossing Folder . I then had a small piece of Fundamental paper left that I used my corner rounder on to create the layered look. I used retired black enamel stars to give the card some added dimension.

Zoe Butterfly Card-January 16

Image
The Cricut Artfully Sent  cartridge is the perfect Cricut Cartridge for card makers. It has dozens of  card cuts along with a total of 700 cuts. I love winter and all things about winter, but this week it has rained and the beautiful snow is beginning to melt. In order to beat the winter blues I used the Artfully Sent cartridge and the Zoe paper pack to create this spring time card. Instead of using the card cut though I used the Sleeve button on the letter R to create this card. I actually cut the sleeve twice, one in patterned paper and once in Sorbet so that I could use the Sorbet butterflies on the card. I backed the paper with Canary cardstock.

Rose Card-January 15

Image
I had some scraps left of La Vie En Rose  and made one more Valentine's Day Card. I promise this weekend's card will be something different!

Valentine's Card-January 14

Image
Yes another La Vie En Rose card! The paper is so versatile and the January Stamp of the Month matches the paper so perfectly.  Enjoy!

High Five Jackson Card-January 13

Image
Today I need a quick card for my boss. He does so much for our school community and takes time to thank us staff. I used the retired Jackson paper pack and Picture My Life cards. I used my edge distresser on the edges of all the papers in order to give it some texture and life.

Thinking of You Card-January 12

Image
This morning I woke up early and had time to create a sympathy card for a friend whose mother recently passed away from cancer. I thought the Charlotte paper pack was perfect for the occasion. I also have been trying to make myself use my cartridges more so I pulled out the CTMH Artistry Cartridge and found the perfect balloon cut on page 34. I cut the balloon base using a sheet of the Charlotte paper pack and the top of the balloon using Sorbet paper. I used the January Stamp of the Month "Thinking of You" in Whisper ink to stamp the words. I used a Treasured Puffies  in the right corner to give just a pop of gold color.  The January Stamp of the Month is available for only $5 with any $50 purchase. All products used for this card can be found here.

Hello Friend Card-January 11

Image
I used the  La Vie En Rose to make this "Hello friend" card. The card is 4 "x 4" and I cut the flower from the Art Philosophy Cartridge from Close to My Heart. It is Flower 4 at 2 3/4". I used the Friendship Wreath  stamp with Poppy ink. I also added a strip of gold shimmer trim  and a black button.

La Vie En Rose Valentine's Card-January 10

Image
I have numerous birthday cards to mail this week but am using up my stash this week. Valentine's Day will be here before we know it so I thought I would start making Valentine's Day cards. I ordered the La Vie En Rose for the black and white paper as it was stunning. However, I have come to LOVE the Poppy cardstock and ink and now need to order an entire pack of Poppy Cardstock! I also used the Treasured Puffies  and black and gold ribbon . The January Stamp of the Month was perfect to use for this paper pack and for Valentine's Day Card.

Today Is Your Day Birthday Card-January 9

Image
I made this quick 4" x 4" card for a co-workers birthday. I used the Charlotte Workshop Your Way paper and embellishments to create. The Close to My Heart Complements make crafting so simple. I didn't even have to pull out a stamp set!!

Together Is a Wonderful Place to Be-January 8th

Image
Close to My Heart has changed the way they are packing kits. They now have Workshops Your Way which include a paper pack, cardstock and embellishments. One of the new Workshops Your Way is Charlotte . Charlotte is perfect for card making if you do not have girls to scrap in our life! The Charlotte Workshops Your Way kit: I created this simple card to stick in my husbands lunch today:

Cricut Artfully Sent Card-January 7th

Image
The Cricut Artfully Sent Cartridge from Close to My Heart is perfect for card makers. It includes dozens of cards that with a few pieces of cardstock and 15 minutes and you can create a card to send to someone.  I used Ponderosa Pine and Olive cardstock along with the Basic Fundamental Paper. The inside is stamped Happy Birthday and I will be sending this to my male cousin whose birthday is next week.  Who are you creating birthday cards for this month?

January 6-Friendship Card

Image
I love how Close to My Heart's Picture My Life  cards work for cards as well as scrapbooking. I used cards I had left from the Hopscotch PML pack to create this fun friendship card. There is no stamping required to create personalized cards using the PML packs.  I am sending this card to my niece who is in middle school, to remind her to continue to be herself!

Thanks for the Memories Card-January 5

Image
Now that life has returned to normal, aka Christmas Break is over and school has resumed, I have time to continue watching the Criminal Minds series and craft. I decided to use some scraps of the Paper Fundamentals Enchantment and Finding the Words stamp set from Close to My Heart. I love the new Peacock color from Close to My Heart. It is so rich looking. Honey compliments the Peacock so nice that I thought it made a beautiful card.  I will be sending this card to a long time friend/mentor to let her know that every memory I have of a summer camp I grew up at, Camp Sweyolakan, has her in them. You can order all supplies used in this card here .

January 4-Good Luck Card

Image
One of the other advantages of creating and sending a card every day is that I am going to use up some of my scraps (probably 300 + cards won't even make a dent!). I used the retired CTMH paper pack Hopscotch to create this "Good Luck" card to send to a co-worker as we enter another long stretch teaching and we both are in college working on our Library Media endorsement. We will both need some luck this quarter! Stay tuned tomorrow to see how to use Picture My Life cards to create quick cards.

Day 3-Friendship

Image
My goal this year is to send a card every day to make my friends, neighbors, co-workers, Close to My Heart customers and others know what they mean to me. I love getting something in the mail that is not a bill or solicitation! I know others do to so this year I am going to be more intentional about sending out cards. I hope to not miss a birthday this year since I am using the new Close to My Heart planner and be aware of deaths, job changes, promotions, births, etc. To start the year off by surprising someone I created this fun friendship card using new Charlotte paper pack from Close to My Heart and the January Stamp of the Month (available for only $5 with any $50 purchase).    All supplies for this card can be ordered at www.stephaniefeist.ctmh.com .

Day 2-Get Well Soon

Image
A good friend had surgery last week so I need to send her a Get Well card. I created this card using the Close to My Heart Zoe paper pack along with the retired stamp set Flakey Friends. I love how the simplicity of the Glacier on Glacier color stamping makes the pinwheel paper pop.    Who are you sending a card to today?

January 1 "A Christmas Thank You"

Image
I am a big believer in Thank You cards. My grandmother always expected one and taught my sisters and I how important it was let someone know you appreciated what they did for you! I am passing on this tradition to my son who is 9. This year I created mini Thank You cards for him to send to people who gave him a Christmas gift. I used scraps from Close to My Heart White Pines paper pack and White Pines Compliments. They are perfect for neighbors as we don't have to mail them.
